Pike River Trees

This scene was painted from a sketch of the Pike River plain, which is part of the Murray River system near Paringa in South Australia. The dying trees show the struggle due to lack of water flow and rising salt table.

This abstracted tree was done with soft watercolour pencil which has been rubbed away to create the wavy underpainting.

Mantung Mallee

This mallee tree was painted during a weekend stay at the historic old general store in Mantung, South Australia, now restored as a holiday home.

Honeymoon Vine

This sketch was done at Honeymoon Vineyard, Echunga, in the Adelaide Hills.
The property is as beautiful as the Honeymoon wines.

Winter Vine

This painting was inspired by the McLaren Vale wine region, with rolling green hills and pruned vines in a wet winter.

Sugar Gum
This large sugar gum had a forked trunk, with only the right fork showing in this drawing. The tree dwarfed all the trees around and had to be removed, sadly, in July 2021.
